Marienkirche (2)The region was converted to Protestantism after the Reformation, but the Marienkirche is a Catholic church. With the construction of the Lötschberg tunnel (1906-1912) and the development of tourism, Italian visitors increased and Catholic families settled in the area, leading to the construction of this church in 1927.
