Territet
A former tourist mecca, internationally known resort, with an important architectural heritage. It's the village where Sissi, Empress of Austria, was sojourning when she was assassinated as she went in Geneva for a lake cruise.

In the late nineteenth century, this jewel of Montreusian tourism was the leader in promoting the region in the world. The famous Orient Express railway line linking Paris to Istanbul was stopping in Territet station, not in Montreux!

Facing the lake, Territet is still a beautiful and quite nostalgic village, with a nice little port. All these assets have favoured the sojourn of distinguished guests as Sissi Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary.

Between lake and mountain, between Montreux and Chillon Castle, Territet is one of these villages you definitely have to visit!

The village is well served by public transport (CFF/SBB trains, CGN boats, VMCV trolleybus) and from there you may climb to Glion above Montreux with an impressive funicular railway, but the best way to go to Territet from Montreux is by foot along the flowered lakeshore.
