Epesses
A village that has put its heart and soul into winegrowing, and whose name alone is enough to thrill any connoisseur of fine wines. Epesses is home to the vines of the legendary Calamin white wine, well known to fans of Chasselas.

If the three fir trees on the coat of arms are anything to go by, it dates back to a time when "pesses" (fir trees in dialect) had not yet given way to vineyards.

Today, you have to go up to the top of the village, on the unstable slopes of the Cornallaz or on the slopes of the Tour de Gourze to find conifers.

The World Tracasset Championships are held in Epesses every two years in April. Tracassets are small three-wheeled motorised vehicles with a rear axle, used by winegrowers in French-speaking Switzerland. A very fun and colourful championship!
