Probably the most picturesque winegrowers' village of Lavaux, an absolute must-see: narrow lanes, archways, and vineyards all around.
Many painters and photographers have fallen under the charm of this unforgettable village. Jean Villard Gilles, a famous Swiss songwriter and poet of the 20th century, lived here and gave his name to a lane and a soul to these old walls.
Unfortunately, the main road and the railway track have separated the village from its pretty little port, but it's the only downside of the place.
Saint-Saphorin gave its name to one of the "wine appellations" of the Lavaux AOC (controlled denomination of origin). Don't visit the village without tasting the white wines, fruity and refreshing!
