A typical village in the Val d'Anniviers, Grimentz is a winter sports and summer hiking destination. The Moiry dam and lake are just a few kilometres away, offering beautiful views of the Dent Blanche and the glaciers.
Just a few kilometres up from Vissoie, the Val d'Anniviers splits into two different valleys. To the east is the Val de Zinal, to the west the Val de Moiry, on whose slopes lies Grimentz, one of Switzerland's most beautiful villages.
Situated at an altitude of 1572 metres, Grimentz is an increasingly popular tourist destination, but the village has preserved its typical Val d'Anniviers architecture.
Unlike other resorts in the Valais, even the new buildings are largely in keeping with the local style, making Grimentz a modern resort with its roots in tradition.
The old village is particularly well showcased, immersing visitors in a picturesque atmosphere that is a photographer's delight.
Grimentz is primarily a winter sports resort with the Bendolla ski area and a link via Sorebois to the Zinal ski area, but it is also a magnificent destination during the summer season.
Don't miss the chance to hike to the Moiry dam and lake and admire the view from the Espace Weisshorn, below the Sorebois Horn.
