Bernina Pass
The Bernina Pass, at 2330 metres above sea level, connects the Engadine to Valtellina, Italy, through the Poschiavo Valley. It is the highest pass in Switzerland and the Alps that remains open all year round.

It is the only access to the southernmost valley of Graubünden, the Val Poschiavo, one of the three Italian-speaking regions of the canton.

The Bernina Express, one of Switzerland's most spectacular railway lines, runs over this pass, linking Chur, the capital of Graubünden, with Tirano in the Italian Valtellina.
