Madonna di Tirano
Madonna di Tirano is the area of the city of Tirano where the Basilica of the same name stands, a Catholic church dating from the beginning of the 16th century that should not be missed, whether you are a believer or not.

Already when seen from afar, this baroque basilica is truly impressive. Together with the Duomo in Milan and the Certosa in Pavia, it is considered one of the three most beautiful churches in Lombardy.

Architecturally, it is a true masterpiece whose construction began in 1505 and was completed in 1513. But the church was not consecrated until 1528, when the interior was completed!

The interior is divided into three naves, the most striking feature of which is the incredible amount of stucco, paintings and decorations on the walls and ceiling vaults of the church, aimed at covering every available space.

These features have made this monument a perfect example of the mastery of Lombard Renaissance art.

The whole thing is so overloaded that it gives an almost oppressive impression!
