Folegandros

A hiker's paradise, Folegandros is a rocky, arid island that has remained untouched by mass tourism.

Its main village, Chora, is perched on the edge of a cliff 200m above the sea. Some consider it to be the most beautiful of all the Cyclades, and we can't disagree with them.

The rest of the island is rather disappointing, unless you love hiking through parched landscapes under a blazing sun. Apart from the port of Karavostasis, the only other village, Ano Meria, is a long line of houses built along the road that winds around the island's ridge.

Please note

Folegandros was one of the few islands in the Cyclades that we hadn't yet explored during our many trips between 2006 and 2020. It wasn't until the spring of 2025 that we returned to the Cyclades and set foot on Folegandros, curious to finally discover this island that has been kept away from the tourist frenzy.

We stayed in Chora and only left to shoot a few panoramas at the port and at the other end of the island. In Chora, on the other hand, we shot some 200 panoramas, a selection of which you can find in our virtual stroll.
