Castle Murten (2)At the end of the Savoyard domination, the castle became the administrative seat of the Bernese and Fribourg bailiffs, then served in turn as a hospital, barracks or prison. Today it houses one of the prefectures of the canton of Fribourg and cannot be visited, except for its keep which is open to the public from June to October.
