Vercorin
Perched at an altitude of 1330m between the Rhône Plain and the Val d'Anniviers, Vercorin is a famous village that has retained its original character and a human scale.
It is part of the Val d'Anniviers, but is also part of the municipality of Chalais, a village near Sierre on the Rhône plain. You can of course get there by road, but the most spectacular and fun way to get there is by cable car from Chalais. In just 7 minutes, you go from an altitude of 510m to 1330m and arrive 350m from the centre of the village of Vercorin.
A cable car also climbs from Vercorin to Crêt-du-Midi, at an altitude of 2333m. This map shows the various stations on these lifts. (We have omitted the Briey stop on request, between Chalais and Vercorin).
